Procópio Ferreira, stage name João Procópio Ferreira (Rio de Janeiro, July 8, 1898 – Rio de Janeiro, June 18, 1979), was a Brazilian actor, theater director, and playwright. Nicknamed "the glory of Brazilian culture," he is considered the greatest Brazilian actor of the 20th century. Procópio discovered early on his talent for engaging audiences, drawing large audiences to his shows. Over a 62-year career, he played over 500 characters in over 450 plays. (Wikipedia)
