This film's theme is a person's body and psyche's reaction to abuse; in this case abuse of a woman. Physical and psychological abuse can make a person ill; in this film's case the director's mother, whom they watched getting sick, developing anorexia in spite of her age. This film is a visual narrative about the consequences of abuse.
